Mental Health in the Age of Overwhelm: From Climate Anxiety to Digital Detox, Toward Collective Wellbeing
Wed 17 Sep 2025, 4:15 pm - 5:30 pm (GMT+8:00)
Impact Lab 5 (Level 3 Suntec Convention Centre)
In an age of accelerating change, we face a new era of psychological overwhelm. Climate anxiety, digital dependency, burnout, and AI are colliding in ways our nervous systems—built for nature and connection—were never designed to handle. Stretched across timelines, technologies, and crises, we are challenged at the deepest human level.
This panel examines the emotional and existential cost of modern life: from climate anxiety and eco-grief to algorithmic overload, attention fatigue, and tech dependency. We will explore AI’s mental health impact — friend, foe, or mirror? — along with the spiritual toll of speed and overstimulation.
Bringing together psychologists, technologists, ESG leaders, and well-being researchers, we’ll share strategies for digital hygiene, resilience, and hope-based action. Together, we’ll ask how to design ecosystems — natural, digital, and social — that protect and restore humanity, anchoring us amid chaos and reclaiming connection, meaning, and agency.
