Nurul Izzah Anwar
6th Deputy President of the Malaysian People's Party
Nurul Izzah Anwar is a social policy activist, former legislator and public servant, with a professional career spanning 25 years. She co-founded Malaysia’s leading multiethnic party, the People’s Justice Party, (KEADILAN) in 1999 and was elected Deputy President in 2025. The party now heads the government in Malaysia. She also chairs Polity, a think tank dedicated to transforming evidence-based research into impactful policies, advocacy and interventions that drive meaningful change. In addition, she serves as Strategic Advisor to the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC). Nurul Izzah earned her Masters’ Degree from the School for Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University studying International Relations (with a specialisation in Southeast Asia Studies). She received her Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional.
