Batya Blankers

Co-founder and CEO, Chancen International

Batya Blankers is the Co-Founder and CEO of Chancen International Rwanda. Having financed her BA studies with the Income Share Agreement, Batya is passionate about scaling this model in Africa. She has 10+ years of prior management experience and holds an MBA from the African Leadership University School of Business.

Batya Blankers is the Co-Founder and CEO of Chancen International, an organization expanding access to higher education and career pathways through Income Share Agreements (ISAs). Since 2018, she has led Chancen’s growth from a start-up in Rwanda to a regional organization financing more than 6,000 students across Rwanda, South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana, with expansion to India soon to be underway. Under her leadership, Chancen students achieve a 93% graduation rate and a 71% employment rate. The organization’s scalable, win-win education financing model increases lifetime earnings by up to 5x and delivers a $59 return on impact for every dollar invested. Chancen has also expanded partnerships with local universities, government agencies, and global funders, scaling impact rapidly while maintaining high student outcomes.

In addition to leading Chancen, Batya serves as Co-Chair of the Global ISA Alliance, where she is building a fair and ethical global ecosystem of ISA providers across five continents. In this role, she is working to create global standards for student protection, strengthen collaboration across the sector, and elevate ISAs as a recognized model for fueling economic mobility and establishing a new asset class globally.

Batya came to this work after experiencing the transformative impact of an ISA herself, financing her undergraduate studies in Germany through the model. Prior to founding Chancen, she built over a decade of management experience in the private sector. She holds an MBA from the African Leadership University School of Business.
