Handmade Chinese Medicine Sachets

Wed 17 Sep 2025, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm (GMT+8:00)
Sanctuary 3 (Level 3 Suntec Convention Centre)

Format: Workshop

Trace the lineage of Chinese medicine sachets back to the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, where these elegant pouches were used not only for their aromatic charm but also as therapeutic tools in the wisdom tradition of “clothing and crown therapy.” From poetic mentions in The Book of Songs to their emotional symbolism in Dream of the Red Chamber, sachets hold centuries of cultural and medicinal significance.

In this hands-on session, participants will explore the art of crafting herbal sachets from start to finish. You’ll learn to identify common Chinese medicinal herbs, grind them into fine powder by hand, and blend them into custom sachets, all while engaging your senses in the texture, aroma, and intention of the process.

Guided by traditional interpretations and gentle presence, each sachet becomes a vessel of healing and protection. As you stitch and scent, you’ll experience the meditative stillness of creation and the enduring beauty of plant-based wisdom – carried not only in fragrance but in spirit.
