Bjorn Low
Executive Director & Co-founder, Edible Garden City
Bjorn Low is an urban farmer, social entrepreneur, and long-time advocate for sustainable food systems. As the co-founder of Edible Garden City in Singapore, Bjorn has spent over a decade integrating edible landscapes into dense urban environments, transforming underutilized spaces into productive farms that build community and resilience.
An Ashoka Fellow, Bjorn’s work bridges practice and research. He recently completed a PhD in Urban Food Sovereignty at RMIT University, where his research explored how urban agriculture can support social and ecological regeneration, particularly through care farming models for aging and marginalized communities.
Bjorn also lectures at the National University of Singapore’s Department of Architecture, where he shares his experiences and helps shape emerging conversations around food, design, and cities.
