Daniel Lee Lih Wei is the Director of Research and Sustainability at Sunway University, where he spearheads initiatives to integrate sustainability into research, education, and operations. He also leads Sunway R&D Sdn Bhd, the university’s research and innovation arm dedicated to strengthening industry–academia collaboration, bridging theoretical research with practical, impactful applications across sectors. With over 14 years of experience in higher education, Daniel has a proven track record in research management, strategic planning, and project execution, working extensively with government agencies, industries, and academia to drive transformative outcomes.
Daniel has been instrumental in developing impact strategies that leverage research for real-world benefits, particularly in areas of sustainability, socioeconomic development, and innovation. He has coordinated multidisciplinary teams to tackle complex challenges, advancing projects that contribute directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His expertise spans research strategy, business development, change management, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that Sunway’s research ecosystem is not only robust but also globally relevant.
