Jing Rong GOH is Assistant Professor of Economics (Practice) at the School of Economics, Singapore Management University. His research is published in Journal of Banking and Finance, Quantitative Finance and Economics, and Risks. He teaches Actuarial Science, Data Science, and Blockchain, and was nominated for both SMU’s Excellent Teacher Award and Most Promising Teacher Award. He has worked on research projects funded by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and received multiple research grants from Singapore’s Ministry of Education. His research focuses on retirement financing, machine learning applications, and economics of philanthropy. He has provided consulting services to banks, insurance companies, and various government organizations across Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. He also sits on the council for the Singapore Actuarial Society, and actively invests in and advises impact-driven startups across Southeast Asia.
