Mr. PANG Yee Ean’s role in GMC is to provide guidance to the mindful development of GMC as a Special Administrative Region of Bhutan, a carbon-negative country. GMC aspires to be the cultural, financial and technology hub of South Asia. The plan includes green technology, education, and infrastructure initiatives such as an international airport, railways, a hydroelectric dam, and public spaces, etc..
Yee Ean’s passion is in infrastructure and sustainable investment, he has managed a portfolio exceeding USD 6 billion, with two-thirds focused on renewable and transitional energy. He previously served as CEO of Surbana Jurong Capital and Director General of Investment Operations at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), where he launched the private sector investment platform and led market development across China, Myanmar, Egypt, and Turkey. Earlier, he held leadership positions at Surbana International, CapitaLand Ascenda REIT, and JTC Corporation, and co-founded the industrial e-procurement platform Abecha.
